Fitting Programs (Author: Hazri)
Fitting programs are used to tryout and play around with ship fittings out of the game. You have all ships and modules at your disposal and can set various skills at all levels you want. The programs are an essential tool for everyone who is fitting ships on his own and want to test and optimize as much as possible before buying stuff ingame. I can't give instructions on how to use this programs, but you can find plenty of informations about them on the net or the program sites. In the following is a list of the 3 fitting programs I'm aware of. They all do the job and which one you want to use is up to you:
  • EveHQ - It isn't only a fitting tool but also offers a lot more features. It isn't really lightweight because of that, but the built-in fitting tool is really great. I use it for all my fits and can really recommend it to anyone.
  • Pyfa - The "Python Fitting Assistant" is another fitting program. Like EFT it doesn't offer anything else than fitting management, but that's exactly what we want anyway. Because it is written in python it's an excellent choice for linux users. I tested it myself and it does pretty good.
  • EFT - The "Eve Fitting Tool" is exactly what the name says. It doesn't offer fancy features, but is an excellent fitting program. It is a little outdated though and may not offer exact results.
